Area codes by state

Area codes by state

Use this directory to find the verified codes for a state. Each state section below lists only the Batch 1 codes for that state that have been checked so far. A state with one code listed does not mean that state has only one area code in total; it means only that code is covered on this site so far. More codes per state will be added in verified batches.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my state show only one or two codes?

Because this directory lists only codes that have been checked so far. It is a directory of the first 20 verified codes, not a complete directory for each state.

What if I need a code for a state section that is empty here?

Use the area code finder (/what-area-code-is-this/). If the code is not in the database yet, the tool will say so rather than guessing.

Do all codes in one state share a time zone?

Not always. Some states span more than one time zone, so check the time zone on the individual code page. The Batch 1 examples on this page show the zone for each code’s own region.
