How to use this list
If you know the code, use its link to see its region, overlays, dialing rule, and history. If you have a phone number, use the area code finder (/what-area-code-is-this/) instead: it takes only the first three digits and returns the region, state, and time zone for that code, with a link to its page when the page exists. The finder cannot identify who owns a number.
Frequently asked questions
Is this every US area code?
No. This is the first set of 20 verified codes. The list will grow as further codes are checked and added in verified batches.
How do I find a code that is not listed here?
Use the area code finder (/what-area-code-is-this/). If the code is not in the database yet, the tool will say so plainly rather than guessing a region.
What does the time zone column mean?
It is the time zone of that code’s region as listed on its code page. Some states have more than one time zone, so the code page, not the state name alone, is the guide to the zone for that code.
