Terms of Use
These terms describe how you may use AreaCodeAtlas. By using the site, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
Information only
All content on this site is general information about North American area codes, compiled from public sources including NANPA. It is not official advice, not legal advice, and not a substitute for checking with your telephone carrier or the official NANPA website. Area code details can change, and the site does not guarantee that any fact will remain unchanged. You use the information at your own judgement, and you should confirm important details before relying on them for a call or a decision.
What the site does not do
This site does not identify callers or phone owners, does not offer reverse phone lookup, does not track phones in real time, and does not list reported spam numbers. The lookup tool explains an area code from its first three digits only. Nothing on the site should be used to identify, contact, or make claims about a person from a phone number.
Acceptable use and content
You may read, link to, and quote the site’s pages for personal or editorial use with credit to AreaCodeAtlas, provided you do not present the site as official or affiliated with NANPA, the FCC, or any carrier. You must not use the site to mislead readers, to scrape it in a way that harms its operation, or to present its general information as a guarantee about a specific number. The site’s design, text, and diagrams are provided for reading on this site; reuse beyond fair quotation should be checked against the rights that apply to the underlying public sources named on the methodology page.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, AreaCodeAtlas is not liable for loss arising from reliance on general area code information on this site, from a change in area code details after they were checked, or from the use of the lookup tool beyond its stated purpose. These terms do not remove any rights you have under law that cannot be removed by agreement.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the site changes, for example when new code batches are added or when a new tool is introduced. The current version of this page is the version that applies. If a change materially affects how the site works, the relevant page will be updated to describe the change.
